Slow Cooker Chicken Tortellini Soup

The best of the best is this chicken tortellini soup made in a slow cooker! Who doesn’t enjoy a vegetable- and cheese-filled soup? It’s a tasty and simple variation on the traditional chicken noodle soup. This soup is one of my favourites since it can be prepared in a crockpot. Little to no preparation is required, and there are several varieties. For six hours, this soup simmers gently and slowly.

Not only is it simple to prepare and smells good when you get home, but you can also use frozen tortellini, which further simplifies things. The preparation time for this soup is quite short, and the final product is absolutely wonderful.

Ingredients in Chicken Tortellini Soup

The finest kind of comfort food is this chicken tortellini soup! With this rich, SO DELICIOUS soup that will warm your soul, you can’t go wrong.

Chicken Breast: For this dish, I used skinless, boneless chicken breasts.
Onions, carrots, and celery give this soup a typical chicken noodle soup flavour.
You may use minced garlic from your refrigerator or fresh garlic cloves. One garlic clove is around the size of a half teaspoon.
Low-sodium chicken broth and water: For the soup’s foundation, I used low-sodium chicken broth.
Bay Leaves: The soup is seasoned with the bay leaves.
You may either purchase Italian seasoning or create it at yourself using this recipe.
You may use either fresh or frozen tortellini. Just a touch more

Let’s Make Some Soup!

Add Ingredients: All of the ingredients—aside from the tortellini—should be added to a slow cooker.
Cook: Cook for six hours on low.
Chicken that has been cooked should be taken out of the slow cooker, shredded (or cubed), and then put back in.

Add Tortellini: The tortellini can be added to the soup with 15 minutes remaining.

Add flavouring: Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately with chopped parsley, if preferred, after discarding the bay leaves.

Easy Tips

Vegetables should be sliced into bigger, somewhat uniform-width pieces for optimum results. This will guarantee that the veggies cook evenly throughout at the same pace. The bigger vegetables won’t fry up mushy that way!

Best When Fresh: Compared to frozen tortellini, fresh pasta cooks more quickly. Tortellini should be cooked in the slow cooker for a bit longer if they are frozen.

If you want a creamier broth, you may add half and half or whipping cream to this basic soup to make it creamier.

Looking for a healthy alternative that includes leafy greens? Consider using spinach or kale in the soup.

Storing Chicken Tortellini Soup

Is Chicken Tortellini Soup Possible? This soup is excellent for making in advance. Simply adhere to the directions without adding the tortellini. Put the chicken tortellini soup in a ziplock bag or other airtight container when it has finished cooking and cooling.

Vegetable Preparation Ahead of Time: Trying to start this soup off early. Simply prepare your veggies the previous evening.

Can Chicken Tortellini Soup Be Freezed? Yes! Tortellini should either be left out of the soup or removed and put in a ziplock bag once the soup has totally cooled.

Chicken Tortellini Soup Reheater: Place back into the slow cooker or a large saucepan on the stovetop when it’s time to reheat. Warm up gradually while periodically stirring.
