Hawaiian Fried Rice Recipe

Make a one-pot supper out of your leftover rice from yesterday! Even though it takes only a few minutes to prepare, this hearty and delicious Hawaiian fried rice is packed with ham, bacon, pineapple, eggs, and vegetables. Definitely a household favourite!

I enjoy cooking, but if I can spend less time in the kitchen, the better. Steamed rice can be frozen, which is one of my favourite meal-prep tricks. I normally prepare twice as much food as I can eat at one sitting and reserve the other half for stir-fries.

To ensure that the ingredients are distributed evenly without spilling and that the rice has enough room to toast well, use a wok or a big pan with high edges.

To prevent the fried rice from becoming soggy from too much moisture, use liquid ingredients like soy sauce sparingly. If necessary, add salt to taste.

How to store leftovers

Place any leftovers in a lidded jar and store in the fridge for up to 3 days or the freezer for up to 2 months.

Stir well between each interval as you reheat in the microwave for 2 to 3 minutes at a time, until everything is thoroughly warmed through.
